Mitchell is likely to be the starter for |
the 1992 football season. Although
the No. 1 candidate for the position,
Mitchell had to prove himself in
spring and fall practice along with
other contenders Blake Williamson,
Kurt Frederick, Eric McDowell, and
signee Steve Taneyhill.
Mitchell said he felt good about
preseason practice.
"It's a young team and we need \
experience, but everything will come i
together during the season," he said. s
"Personally, I feel that I asserted i
myself as starting quarterback in the
spring. And then I reasserted myself t
in preseason practice this fall." 1
"I feel good about being the likely (
starter," he said.
Mitchell said the real question for <
the team was who would be in the >
back-up quarterback position. ;
