for its 24th year, 22 of
which have been in Columbia.
The NYSP is a federally- WfL
funded program designed to
teach disadvantaged teenagers
about life through sports instruction
and competition.
The participants, ages 10-16,
spend five weeks of the summer
learning athletic skills. Each (jH5
child receives professional instruction
in swimming, basketball,
tennis, dance, gymnastics,
and other sports.
