The U.S. Supreme Court ruling Monday giving
states sweeping power to restrict abortions
was called a victory by South Carolina abortion
opponents, but elicited sharp criticism from a
women's-rights group.
"We are outraged by the decision. We do not

The court upheld most of the abortion restrictions
in a Pennsylvania law, but fell one vote
short of overturning the 1973 Roe vs. Wade
ruling that legalized abortion.
Some anti-abortion advocates nationwide
