The editorial consists of a series of uniusti J fied, inaccurate, illogical and otherwise lame assertions that serve only as evidence of a need for you to increase the suggested length of letters to the editor. The first sentence ("Separation of church and state") is impertinent. The second sentence ("It's a constitutional amendment securing us from the control of religious influence") is true only in the narrowest of senses and is misleadingly incompetent. The first part of the third sentence ("We fought for that right") is historically false. And the naivete of the remainder of the third sentence ("and we live by it") is tempered only by the charade of your fourth sentence ("At least we try to"). Contrary to your rather direct implications, Furman is not a state entity. It is a private school founded in 1825 by South Carolina Baptists to provide higher education in an environment Questior 5OINT ?
