The victory was the second ; straight against the Mountaineers for the Gamecocks, and is the fourth straight home win for South Carolina. The Gamecocks now sport an overall record of 18-4 heading into their inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference. In the first two games of the West Virginia series, South Carolina outscored the Mountaineers by a combined score of 20-2. Wednesday's offensive outburst was led by sophomore centerfielder Mac White, junior rightfielder Joe Biernat, and the Cromer brothers, senior third baseman Burke and junior designated hitter D.T. The Lady Gamecocks were led by seniors Nathalie Rodriguez (3-6, 6-0, 6-4) and Michelle Duda (6-1,6-0). Both Rodriguez and Duda are nationally ranked, No. 50 and No. 57 respectively. They both upped their overall singles marks to 15-6.
