The Lady Gamecocks' win over
Memphis State was a game of
milestones for Coach Nancy Wil- 1
son's squad. '
Fifth-year senior forward Treka
McMillian played her last game \
for South Carolina at home, and
junior center Michelle Murray \
etched her place in Lady Gamecock
history by moving into first 1
place in total career blocks with A
103. (
"It's been a good season,"
McMillian said. "I'm glad I've 1
been here, and it will be a lasting 1
memory." 1
Wilson said McMillian was a
strong performer for South Car- \
olina who was not always repre- 1
sented in the final stats.
"She pulled the team together
with her leadership," Wilson said. 1
South Carolina's 61-50 victory,
however, was in doubt until the
last three minutes of the game.
Memphis State came out in a
full-court press after they scored
off Lady Tiger" senior forward t
Diane Garner's layup with 17:43 <
left in the first half. I
"Memphis was quicker than *
we're used to," Wilson said. "They
were quick enough to double team ]
us before we could pass." ]
