Since its conception, this "Sub

of plaid-wearing long-hairs such
as Mudhoney, Coffin Break,
Soundgarden and most recently,
Nirvana, but the music hasn't

Grunge has filtered into almost
every town in middle America,
even Columbia.
Isabelle's Gift is such a fourpiece
grunge band comprised of
USC English majors Mark Austin

friends Chris Swallows and Hagus
Nelson. Their sound is melodic,
yet aggressive, reminiscent
of Nirvana and their less- commercialized
Seattle counterparts.
Drummer Flower said the band
has been together "spiritually"
