During his last yean at USC,
former President James Holderman
gave a part-time actor and ex^
ballet dancer $13,000 in contracts
and travel expenses, records show.
Records indicate a $9,000 contract
in 1986 was meant to help
USC develop a relationship with
the Shakespeare Theatre in
Washington. But six USC and
Shakespeare Theatre officials say
they don't remember the actor, Bill
Reeves, taking part in negotiations.
Four never heard of Reeves, The
Charlotte Observer reported
Thursday.
I "We didn't have any consultants,"
said Tom Cooke, former
chairman of the USC theater department
and current theater department
chairman at the University
of Tennessee.
Reeves graduated from USC in
1982 and traveled with Holderman
on official USC trips between
19.86 and 1989 to places such as
Mexico and San Francisco. More
than $4,000 in travel expenses was
. spent on Reeves.
Holderman also helped pay for
Reeves' rent and food during
