Bennett ran around the left end
for his second score, this one
record-breaking.
Bennett has eight touchdowns
on the season, setting a Gamecock
record for touchdowns in a
season by a freshman. Harold
Green, now with the Cincinnati
: Bengals, held the previous record
with seven in 1986.
Bennett attributes the record to
hard work.
"I've been working hard," he
said. "In fact, everyone has been
working hard all season. I just
want to thank the line for making
it all possible because they've
I been working hard, too."

Yes, football announcers ir

NBC's NFL Live is better, excep

And let's get rid of some very
very overused expressions, such a:
"that was vintage so-and-so" o
"that play kept the drive alive" o
"oh boy, I'd hate to be so-and-s(

There are some great commenta

One bit of nostalgia: remember
when the AFC Central was the
' most competitive division in football?
Every game involving some
combination of the Cleveland
3 Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and
Houston Oilers was guaranteed to
be mean-spirited, high-scoring and
just plain entertaining. Now the
Oilers have gone to a higher level
5 and the Browns and Bengals are
t doormats. Where have all the good
j rivalries gone?
s Besides the NFC East, there are
no consistent grudge-matches in
J football anymore. The NFL needs
J division realignment now more
- o
1 than ever. Like coach John Robinson
of the L.A. Rams said, it's a
s shame that the Rams,' Raiders,
i Chargers and 49ers can't all be in
the same division. The Buccaneers
and Dolphins ought to play each
other every year too. Hope you're
i listening, Commissioner Paul
Tagliabue.
