for your class reunion.
That's exactly what's happening
to the Class of 1941 this Friday,
About 150 classmates and their
spouses are returning for their 50th
'Golden' Year Class Reunion. According
to Mr. A. Craford Clark
son, a graduate of the class, he's
coming back because it's "an opportunity
to enjoy my classmates
again."
As you may have already
guessed, the USC campus has
changed a lot since *41. Another
graduate with this class, Dr. Rufus
Sellers said, "There were about
1800 students around campus."
Many things were also different
from now and many important
things were happening during that
time.
World War II had just started.

An old saying states that "the
more things change, the more they
stay the same." Well, as a college
student today, you must have a
place to "hang out." Many USC
students of today hang out at local
pubs in Five Points where an average
beer cost them about $2.
Well in a way, things were no
different in the days of the 40s.
Moorefield said, "At Five Points,
there was Hycles where they sold
beer and hamburgers. There was
also Mr. Nicks were they sold beer
for 10 cents and hot dogs for 5
cents." It was a bargain to live in
the '40s.
Just as today, there were always
parties going on. There was one
particular dance that was called the
Chin Dance. According to Dr.
Sellers, "The Chin Ball lasted all
night."
