With over 230 registered student organizations 01 campus, there is sure to be something for everyone Interests range from service organizations, honor so cieties, international student associations, professiona societies, media organizations, religious fellowshi] groups, sport clubs, residence hall governments, greel sororities and fraternities, and specific interest groups. Jerry Brewer, director of student life says, "Some o your best memories are made in college. Student orga nizations enrich your life and make Carolina a smalle place to be." The fifteen service organizations at USC reach ou to people, lend a helping hand on campus and aid ii the community. Clubs in this category include th< Carolina Tour Guide Association, Gamecocks Advo eating Mature Management of Alcohol (GAMMA) Campus Rape Awareness, Angel-Flight, Alpha Ph Omega and Campus Coalition for Literacy. Alpha Phi Omega is the only national service frater ' nity in the country. This co-ed organization is bes known at USC for the escort service they provide fo: students around campus at night. This fraternity als( participates in service projects such as Special Olymp ics, Habitat for Humanity, and Harvest Hope Foot Bank. The September 24th class will be a retreat with the Leadership Mentors and will be a two and a half hour class. Weekly sessions will be on Tuesdays from 4-5:30pm in the Russell House University Union. The program fee of $15.00 should be included with the returned registration form.
