Sumter St. Person(s) unknown broke a window
to enter the above location. It is unknown if anything
was taken.
Dec. 28
Disorderly conduct, shoplifting, 100 Assembly
St. Subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Disorderly conduct, unlawful weapon, 200 S.
Marion St. Complainant #1 arrested subject #1
for disorderly conduct, and complainant #2 arrested
subject #2 who was with subject #1 for
unlawful weapon.
Dec. 31
Auto breaking, S-6 lot, 1432 Whaley St. Complainant;
while on patrol, observed that the victim's
vehicle appeared to have been broken into.
Jan 1.
Alarm activation, VIP Guest House. Alarm at
above location was activiated. Area was
checked and found to be clear.
Jan 2.
Grand Larceny, Nursing Building. Complainant
stated person(s) unknown did remove some
items from above location.
Jan. 5
Disorderly conduct, concealed weapon, Carolina
Coliseum. Complainant observed subject in

Complainant and subject had a verbal disagreement
but settled it.

Unknown person(s) removed tag from vehicle.
Auto breaking, Carolina Coliseum lot #1.
Complainant states unknown person(s) broke
out driver's side window.
Disorderly conduct, Carolina Coliseum. Subject
struck victim and then attempted to flee.
Subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and
jailed at Richland County Detention Center.

Coliseum. Subject was arrested for aforementioned
offenses and jailed at Richland County

Hopps' roommate, sophomore
Andrew Jeffries of Alvin, didn't
want to comment on the incident.
"It's been hard enough," Jeffries
said.
According to Hopps' father,
Alexander Hopps Sr., his son had
worked part time at the theater last
year for "gas money and things
like that"
"He was a 100 percent trier,"
the elder Hopps said. "He was by
no means an *A' student, but he
made up for it in hard work and
enthusiasm. I never had a moment's
problem with him from the
day he was born."
Funeral services were held for
Hopps Friday.
