Competition winners
play with orchestra
By KATHY HEBERGER
Assistant Carolina Life Editor
Two singers and a pianist, winners of the music school's annual
Concerto-Aria Competition, will perform tonight during the USC Symphony
Orchestra's concert. *
During the annual Concerto-Aria Competition, USC students perform
a concerto or aria of their choice for music representatives from USC and
Columbia College. The three winners of the competition have the opportunity
to perform with the USC Symphony Orchestra.
Every other year the competition is open to singers, pianists and percussionists.
Next year the competition will be open to strings and winds
musicians.
This year's winners said the competition gave them the rare opportunity
to perform with an orchestra.
