Alumni expect big showing
at Homecoming festivities

They're baaack! Well, not yet, but they will be in a couple of days.
The USC alumni will be returning to campus, greeting old friends and
marvelling over the changes in the university since their last visit.
This year's homecoming theme for the alumni is "Under the Big Top."
Assistant Alumni Director Linda Bradley said the alumni association
usually shares the university's theme, but because there will be a joint
reunion of all classes, they chose a different theme.
The classes will have their reunions Friday under the tent on the Carolina
Coliseum floor.
"Usually the class reunions are all over town ... we're excited about
doing something so different," Bradley said.
From 7-9 p.m. Friday evening, the classes will be entertained by

price of $5, everyone is invited to join the classes at 9 p.m. to be
entertained with a floor show by the Swinging Medallions.
Celebrating their 50-year reunion, the class of 1940 will be at the
Summit Club Friday night in the NCNB tower;
Saturday is the alumni awards brunch at the armory on Bluff Road.
There will be awards given for the distinguished alumni, the young
alumni, the black distinguished alumni and many others.
Four honorary lifetime memberships to the Alumni Association will
also be awarded at the awards brunch. Tickets for the brunch are $8.
Following the game is one of the university's oldest traditions, the tea
dance. The tea dance has been a USC tradition for more than 30 years.
"This was traditionally an afternoon dance party, but there was no tea
served," Bradley said. The cost for the tea dance is $15.
Of course, the football game is included in the weekend's events.
Bradley said that most colleges now sponsor events for their graduates
late Friday afternoon. The alumni office helps the colleges by promoting
its events in their homecoming and Carolina brochure.
