USC running back Mike Dingle
is The Gamecock Athlete of the
Week.
Dingle scored four touchdowns
against Virginina Tech last Saturday
to establish a new Gamecock
record. The old record of three
touchdowns in a game was shared
by nine different players.
The 6-foot-3-inch senior from
.Berkeley High School in Moncks
Corner rushed for 137 yards in 33
carries against Tech and was the
Gamecock's big-play man in the
lourtn quarter rally.
Dingle rushed for 68 yards and
scored two touchdowns in the final
quarter.
On the season, Dingle is the
Gamecocks' leading rusher and
scorer with 260 yards and 30 ,
points, respectively.

the Lady Gamecock Fall Classic.
The Classic will be held at the
Maxcy Gregg Tennis Courts, starting
Friday, Sept. 28 and running
through Sunday, Sept. 30.

from the outset but was unable
