The Chicago Bears and Buffalo
Bills will tee it up at WilliamsBrice
Stadium Thursday night at
8:10 p.m. in both teams' preseason
curtain call. And despite a $26.00
price tag on game tickets, "Animal
Warfare", as the game has been
billed, presents an attractive alternative
to another The Simpsons
repeal.
The Mike Ditka-led Bears have
fashioned a 3-1 preseason mark,
their only loss being a 20-3 setback
dealt them by the L.A. or
Oakland (choose one) Raiders.
The Bills, coached by Marv
Levy, have struggled through a
winless (0-3) exhibition campaign,
with losses to Detroit, New Orleans,
and the N.Y. Giants.
What, you ask, is attractive about
this exhibition football game ?
First of all, the regular season
opener for both teams is but 10
days away. The starters for both
teams should play well into the
second half, as opposed to earlier
preseason games when rookies and
free agent hopefuls from Parts Unknown
A&M inhabit the field, lulling
viewers into the preseason
football phenomena known as
Fansleep.
The Bills lineup features several
Pro Bowlers from 1989, including
strong-armed quarterback Jim
Kelly, linebacker Shane Conlan,
center Kent Hull, dominating defensive
end Bruce Smith, and wide

tilt provides all the elements
for an exciting and entertaining
football game. Far from a sellout,
(30,000 tickets remain unsold), the
game will be blacked out locally.
NFL football does not come to
Columbia too darn often, and
casual and die-hard football fans
alike should not pass up this opportunity
