When Carolina Culik came to
Yhe University of South Carolina,
her goal was not to make a straight
>'A" average, but to do the best she
could without putting undue pressure
on herself.
"After I made a 4.0 my first two
semesters, I started thinking that it
would be kind of nice to keep that
Average. But after a while you
don't think about it anymore ?
you just do it," she said.
' Culik, a 21-year-old computer
science major from Chapin, is the
only student who graduated at
USC's summer commencement
'Aug. 11 summa cum laude, or
with a straight "A" average,
throughout her college career.
To earn such an honor, one
might think it necessary to study
morning, noon and night without
participating in any other activities.
