mo' better blues is better than lovin' two
women at the same time and getting away
with it.
Writer, director and actor Spike Lee has finally
made a real movie, and an extremely
good one at that.
mo' better blues has a strong, well-written
story, superb acting, beautiful cinematography
(the scenes with the opening credits is worth
the price of admission, at least the matinee
show) and music that is so good you will want
to buy the sound track as soon as you leave
the theater.
The music is certainly the best part of the
film. The Branford Marsaiis Quartet provided
most of the numbers written specifically foi
the film but the sound track also includes such
famous jazz artists as Miles Davis, John Coltrane
and Charles Mingus.
Lee even wrote a song for the film callec
"Pop Top 40" that pokes fun at pop love song;
and leaves the audience laughing if for nc
other reason than because its' lyrics tell th(
truth.
Lee's script and direction are very strong
While his other films seemed to be disjoints
