Matthew Broderick stars as Clark Kellogg, a kid from Vermont who is on his way to NYU film school. All is well until Clark meets Victor Ray (Bruno Kilby), a small time con artist who offers Clark a ride, and then steals his money. Now broke, Clark can't buy his textbooks, and his teacher, Professor Fleeber (played by Paul Benedict, who played Bentley on The Jeffersons) is less than sympathetic. Many in the audi- tl ence, including myself, hadn't seen The God- n father and the movie is a direct parody of the q earlier masterpiece. If you've seen The God- tl father, you realize from almost the opening s scene that the movie is a comedy, and nothing tl is to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, if you v haven't seen it, it may take a while to realize > this, if indeed you realize it at all. Unfortunately, not every>ody caught on, and the movie was lost on nose who didn t. Even without seeing The Godfather, I H bought the The Freshman was a very good tiovie. The humor in Bert Park's singing "Te[uila" needs no explanation, nor does much of B be comedy inherent in the plot. Yet without eeing The Godfather, you miss a good bit of be humor. Daktown's 3.5.7 dominated 19's female rap scene and this tainly won't change in the 90's. ^ir performance was definitely jttect. vluch like the 3.5.7's show, the d hitting Hammer show was hy1 and tight. The Hammer's show isists of an array of individuals ;aged in some very creative Dreography. The Hammer's ;ngth lies in his dancing and the y powerful beats, concocted by awesome Bust-It production m of MC Hammer, Felton Pi>, and James Early. On stage h individual seems to be an exsion of the Hammer, each giv100%, with the end result of ryone in time at all times, like :kwork. The only disappointment was t Oaktown 3.5.7 didn't join nmer in a finale to Cut the Ulate Untouchable Rusty.
