It's spring fever time of the year. People have begun
talking about spring break, beaches and "taking it easy."
Everyone is sick of school. Responsibilities are being tossed
aside, and the notion of "fun" and self-gratification
are becoming increasingly important as the weather
becomes increasingly warm.
To hold you over until the weather's hot enough for
you, here's a list of 10 fun, meaningless movies that are
available for your home viewing pleasures on video
- cassettes. These flicks will not try your mentality or for
1 the most part, make you think, but they will hold you
1 over until you can enjoy your own summer pleasurers in
~ your own enjoyable ways.
Summer Lovers (1982) ? Randal Kleiser, the genius
* who brought you Grease directed this kinky movie about
a shallow-brained guy (Peter Gallagher) who starts mak1
ing it with two dopy, yet mighty pretty chicks. Daryl
I (Splash) Hannah is the blonde; Valerie Quenneseen is the
; burnette; the place is a Greek island and the rest is fun!
? fun! fun!
Tarzan, The Ape Man (1981)? This John Derek
I jungle romp should've been titled: Bo, The Naked
I Woman. Bo Derek, John's wife, plays Jane; Miles
; O'Keeffe is Tarzan. See Jane get rubbed down by hostile
natives. See Jane get into a sexy fight with a giant snake.
See Jane get Tarzan in this Peyton Place in the brush.
Reckless (1984)? James Foley directed this Rebel- c
Without-A-Cause of a movie that stars Daryl (Summer I
Lovers) Hannah as the blonde and Aidan (Desperately \
I Seeking Susan) Quinn as the brunette. The story is simple: i
he is white trash, she is a white girl, and they both are hor- a
ny as your common toad. They "bond" in her parents' c
bed, in the school gym and God knows where else. At the 1
end, they ride off on their motorcyle into the sunset. A t
touching movie.
King Kong (1976) ? Dino De Laurentis spent close 2
to $30 million to bring this tale of true love to the big f

brunette. They meet at this quaint little jungle village and '
soon move to the Big Apple. The city isn't kind to Kong; 1
he simply doesn't fit in. After constantly attempting to I
please Lange, he realizes his failures and takes his own life
via the World Trade Center. Lange is left lonely, '
dismayed and screaming ? realizing that no one could
ever love her more than Kong. 1

ind gets with one another, then they start hating each r

burns down her house in the heat of passion. After
this, she doesn't want to date him because her daddy
doesn't like him anymore, but she still thinks she kind of
likes him. And, old gosh! Being a teenager is so tough!
This puppy love of a mo\ k will warm the coldest corner
of your heart.
Jaws 2 (1978) ? Director Jeannot Szwarc brought
this nasty fish back to the big screen in this sequel to one
of the most popular horror films ever. Roy Scheider
reprises his role as the beach cop that no one believes until
their boy, dog or husband gets gnawed up. Then they
A'ant justice where justice is due and fast. In this second
oart, the shark has a fiesta on some naughty kids who
sneak off sailing. This movie teaches an important moral
esson to today's youth: Stay home, and there's a good
:hance you won't be eaten.
American Gigo/o (1980)? Richard Gere is the
looker in this Paul Schrader film, and he is a high priced
looker at that. But . . .he gets framed to put him and his
lenis out of commision, and the movie ends. Solid
:ntertainment!
9 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) ? Adrian (Fatal Attraction)
^yne directed this sexual soiree staring Mickey Rourke as
he brunette and Kim Basinger as the blonde. Basinger
)ecomes Mickey's own personal love toy. She dances for
tim, gets blind-folded for him and even lets him clean out
he refrigerator on her. Plus, he picks out and buys her
lothes, and he whoops her with his big leather belt. But
;ood things never last, and they break up in the end.
The Entity (1983)? Barbara (Beaches) Hershey is
he brunette in this horror flick; an invisible force with a
aping vengeance is the blonde. Sidney Furie directed this
novie. Both Hershey and the spirit are convincing in their
oles; their sex scenes are some of the best captured on
ilm.
You Light Up My Life (1977) ? Joseph Brooks
irote, directed and produced the most emotional film
ver made. It stars Didi (Grease) Conn as a singer who
