Just two days atter a come-frombehind
victory over Clemson at
Carolina Coliseum, the USC
women's basketball team was once
again placed in a similar position.
Only this time the game was at H
Clemson, and the result was quite
different as the Lady Gamecocks
fell, 74-67.
Thursday, with Clemson leading H
USC by 11 points and just over ten
minutes remaining, the Lady
Gamecocks began a comeback that
resulted in a 64-62 USC victory.
But the lead the Lady Tigers built H
Saturday proved to be too much
for USC.
Clemson, 10-8, built a 42-18 lead
with three minutes remaining in the
; first half. After shooting 33 percent
from the field in the first half, USC
began to shoot better in the second
* half, but this time Clemson would
; not allow the Lady Gamecocks to
; come back.

What almost happened a week before did happen (
Saturday night when USC fell to Oral Roberts in Tulsa, a
Okla., 87-86.
At Carolina Coliseum last Saturday night, USC was s
host to Youngstown State, a team that came into the con- p
test with the Gamecocks with a 1-15 record. USC trailed f
in the early minutes, and led by only six at halftime before
finally wearing the Penguins down in a 92-78 win because p
of outstanding play from a bench that scored 51 of USC's s
