clothing to be donated to the Salvation Army.
Recyclable goods will also be collected
throughout the week on Greene Street. Any
monetary proceeds from these recyclable items
will be donated to the Providence Home, a local
shelter for the homeless. Other parts of Carolina
Cares Week include: the Tree Lighting, at 7:30
p.m. Sunday at the Horseshoe; an Ornament
Contest with $50 as the prize- ornaments should

Center; and a Big Band Benefit held at
Rockafellas. Admission is $3, or $2 with a canned
good.
Students interested in spending four weeks
studying Spanish in Cuernavaca, Mexico this
summer during second summer session are encouraged
to attend an informational meeting at 4
p.m. Monday in Humanities Classroom 101.
Students should have one year of college Spanish
or the equivalent by July 1989 to participate.
