Columbia, South Carolina and
L'SC all will get into the
Christmas spirit this weekend
with A Christmas Music Festival,
the Governor's Carolighting and
the University Tree Lighting.
The 14th annual presentation
of A Christmas Music Festival
will begin at N p.m. today in
( arolina Coliseum.
"I think the variety and pace
of the presentation will impress
the audience," said William
Moody, director of USC's School
of Music. " There is enough traditional
('histmas music mixed with
popular Christmas music to keep
audience members of all ages
entertained."
Two examples of the variety of
("hristmas music include the Concert
Choir's presentation of "The
Hallelujah Chorus" from the
Handel's Messia h and t h e
Carolina Hand's performance of
''Parade of t he Wooden
Soldiers," Moody said.
"What a spectacular sight it
will be when 3(X) members of the
marching band march onto the
Coliseum floor," he said.
The 20th annual Governor's
Carolighting will be held at 5:30
p.m. Sunday, 011 the state
grounds, weather permitting.
Last week's presentation was
rained out.
Coordinator for the program,
Ken Richey, said it will feature an

"Star Trek IV: The Voyage <

addition to the "Star Trek" <

Some things you might want to i

1. The crew of the star ship Enter- <

a burning meteor, a starship t

get his marbles back in place. <
I
"Star Trek IV" is great. It was I
directed by Mr. Spock, excuse ;
please, Leonard Nimoy. He still I
has something to learn about <
editing, but the movie moves well
enough. (For those of you who j
