When you think of fraternities

just think of party animals. You
should think of intcllcctual
students who have a social life.
The greek organizations offer
the students many more things
other than parties. It offers
everlasting friendship and love. It
also offers a chance to be
oriented to the students and the
school. Not only do greek
organizations offer a lot, they
also require a lot from those who
pledge.
In order to be in a greek
organization, there are many re
quirements that must be met.

Some of the requirements arc
joining another club, attending a
mandatory study hall, and maintaining
a certain oracle noint
average. These requirements can
be very beneficial to students,
especially freshmen.
Contrary to the popular belief
that students should wait until second
semester of their freshman
year to pledge, I feel the students
should consider pledging their
first semes :r. I feel a fraternity
or sorority will be more beneficial
when the student is a freshman
because it will teach them to learn
to manage their time. It will also
give them the determination to
study i. .der. Many students find

their freshman year is the
toughest; therefore, a greek
organization could only help.
Regardless of when or if a student
pledges, 1 feel everyone
should at least go through rush.
No one really knows what a
greek organization is until he or
she has gone through rush, met
the members, and have heard
what the greek system and
organizations arc about. After
going through Rush you can then
make your decision . . . party
animals or intellectuals who have
a social life?
