decisions," she added.
The idea of a student member
on the board is not a popular one
with USC's administration,
Houser said.
The state legislature is responsible
for deciding whether or not
a student will get a seat on the
board, Houser said.
Other schools in the southeast
such as Memphis State, Louisiana
State, Kentucky and the
University of Tennessee at Knoxville,
have student representation
on their decision-making boards.
Almost all of the schools with
student representation are having
great success with the program,
Houser said.
She said the matter of Sadat's
salary would be on the agenda
when the Student/Trustee
Liaison Committee met.
"I think that she obviously did

Houser said Sadat's salary was I
not the cause for the increases in
tuition.
"I don't think that tuition increases
are a direct result of
Sadat's salary. But, I think that
things such as this would,
somewhere along the line, have to
contribute to a tuition increase,"
she said. "Expenses as great as

Houser expressed concern

"I hope that it doesn't harm
the university. I don't know how
the public will receive this,
though," she said "I really don't
