Students save
with decreasing
gasoline prices

Doug Miller, a personnel
management and marketing
junior, said the decrease has been
helnful
"I was surprised by it, and it
helps a lot," he said.
Miller said he was able to do
more with the savings from the
reduced prices.
"When I was at home over the
break, I noticed it cost $6 to fill

$10 before. It seemed like it went
down 5, 10 cents a day until it
dropped down to 72 cents in
some parts of South Carolina,"
he said.
Another USC student with a
car said he did not notice the
drop in gas prices.
"To tell the truth, I need the
gas, so I just pay for it and don't
pay much attention to the price,"
said John Brigman, an accoun
ting junior.
Isaac Hcyward, owner of a
Chevron station on North Main
Street, said while his prices have
dropped drastically, his business
has not picked up as expected.
"Our business is still the same.
The economy hasn't changed
much, and people still don't have
money," he said.
"Our prices have dropped
anywhere from 30 to 50 cents
depending on the type,"
