Complaints from students and
other local residents about an
obscene phone caller have flooded
USC's psychology department
recently.
The caller, who identifies

irked the psychology faculty.
"The caller identifies himself
as a USC student," said David
Clement, department chairman.

the campus phone directory. He
has called only females both on

then becomes personal and quite
obscene," he said.
The department first received
complaints about such calls
about a month ago, Clement
said. He believes they have come
to an end, as the last complaint
was received at least two weeks
ago.
"Everyone who calls to complain
is sure we arc not involved
with these calls." he said. "A
legitimate survey wouldn't ask
such questions.
"Anyone who gets such a call
should notify our department. If
it involves someone in our
department, we'll put a stop to it.
If it doesn't, we'll get the campus
police involved."

Danny Baker, assistant vice
president of USC's Division of
Law Enforcement and Safety,
recommends that anyone on campus
receiving such a call notify
campus police. He added that
anyone off campus who is called
should notify the telephone company,
which has its own security
division.

method of attack.
"If the caller claims to be a stu- ^
