I .OS ANCill.IS ? Vou can't say much about I.evinson
and I ink's latest minder mystery, "(Unity Conscience" on
CBS Tuesday without revealing a clue.
You can say it 's another dazzling twister by Richard L.evinson
and William l ink, television's foremost mystery writers.
You can also say it's a puzzle within a puzzle within a puzzle
that will keep you guessing until the end.
"CHS ran an ad the other day, and they gave away five important
twists in the plot," l.evinson said.
"(il'll.TY CONSC'IKNCT'." stars Anthony Hopkins.
Blythe Dannei and Swoo/ie Kurt/. I)a\id Greene directed.
Hopkins stars as Arthur Jamison, a prominent criminal attorney
who plans to kill his wife (Danner) because he is being
pressured tor a divorce by his mistress (Kurt/). He figures a

Bust wick. It was about magic and illusion. The second was
'Rehearsal for Murder,' with Robert Preston, Jeff Goldblum
and I ynn Redgrave. It was done within the context of the
theater.
" '(Jl'll.TV C'ONSCIKNCK' is within the context of the
legal system, the law. Thai's all we want to say about that,
since the whole purpose of the piece is to play a game with the
viewer, which is: Wouldn't it he interesting if you could have
your tiial before you committed the crime?"
le\inson and 1 ink arc co-creators \\itli Peter I isclier of
CBS's "Murder. Slie Wrote," the only mystery in which the

"W hat pleases us about the show, which the critics missed,
is that (Ins is one ol the tew dramas with a woman as the star,"
said I c\inson. " '1'olice Woman' had a woman star, bin she
was always rescued in the third act by her male co-stars. 'The
