docs much more than just read palms.
Rachel Yvonne is a counselor to
people who have no one else to talk to.
Her customers include possible
suicide victims and abused wives.
THE NEW YORK native sees many
women who are abused but are too
scared to do anything about it. Her
goal is to change their attitude.
"I open lip their minds and show
them that if they stay with that husband.
they're going to keep getting
abused unless he gets help or she gets
MIL- SillU. I III longer SMC
stays, the more abuse she's going to
get."
Many women can't handle the
pressure. Yvonne said. "A lot of
women go ahead and take the pills and
forget about their children, forget
about iheir home, forget about their
responsibilities.

YVONNE BELIEVES she acts as a
counselor for those in need.

her advice over professional services is
that she only charges $15, whereas a
physician or psychiatrist will charge
much more.
"I'm not guaranteeing 1 will give

"I'M NOT LIKK a magical miracle
worker," she said. Her main goal is to
change attitudes.
"Within three days, they are most
likely to be a different person than
when they walked in here. Their attitude
changes 100 percent."
Yvonne said her customers come in
"all kinds, all shapes and all forms."
Most people come to her with either
marital or business problems, but she
welcomes college students as well. Sh

Young people often have problems
they don't feel comfortable discussing
with their parents, she said. Yvonne
thinks she could heln fheni rhnn?p her
ween right and wrong.
BECAUSE STUDENTS are on a
more limited budget, Yvonne said she
would lower her usual $15 fee to $5.
Besides giving advice, Yvonne also
reads palms, a self-taught talent she
has had since the age of nine.
By looking at people's palms,
Yvonne said she can tell "their
lifestyles, what they need in life, what
they're aoine to co throuch in life antl
what's going to happen to them."
In addition to palm patterns,
Yvonne relies on vibrations and a person's
facial features and figure to help
her forecast their future.
FOR YVONNK, palm reading is a
hobby. "This is not a business you can

However, Yvonne feels there is a
need for her services.
"There are a lot of people out there
who need a little help and guidance in
their life to show them which way to
go," she said.
