I he council would be made up ot one or two members ot
every campus organization and would solicit ideas on how to
improve the relationship between Student Government,
organizations and faculty advisors.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT issue is minority programming.
The minority organizations on campus want more money
from Student Government, and sunnorted a recentlv defeated
resolution that would have given them a percentage cut of the
student activity fees. Houser said, "Most of the senators feel
that they do need some more money, the only problem is how
much and when."
New SG Secretary Karl Houston has three main projects. "1

"I want to see what lias been changed over the past few
years, but never written up in the constitution. I want to make
these changes legal by including them in the constituion. Alter
doing this the Student Government archives will he complete
and this is very important.
Houston's third project is eliminative the paperwork that
must be waded through when a student organization wants to
he licensed or relicenscd.
The new S(1 treasurer is Robin Nelson. "I want to have the
most effective Student Government as posible," she said, and
added, I ni going to sn down and brainstorm about wnat an
1 want to do in the upcoming year, because the student government
can only be as good as the officials make it."
Nelson declined from going into detail about her plans for
the future because "I'd hate to say I want to do one thing then
not do it. l:\ervone would sav that 'vou said that vou were go
ing 10 do one tiling then you do another,' I don't think that
that would be a good way to start of the year."
