Kelvin Stroble spent Saturday night eating pizza and french

The newly elected Student Government president knows
how to manage his time, a quality that he'll need next year if
v^he is to both fulfill his official duties and be a good student.
And he is determined to, above all else, remain a student.

"It doesn't mean I want to be the first black congressman. I
don't aspire to be the first black anything.
"Times change. I think my victory showed a change over
generations. It showed our generation is a progressive generation,"
the Spartanburg native said.'
The week before the election, Stroble had introduced a bill
in Student Senate that he later thought would hurt his chances

Although they've been in office only one week, newly
elected student government officers have been busy.
"We know we have problems and wc arc going to try to correct

"One of the first things on the agenda is to work on the
mandatory meal plan that freshmen will have to buy starting
in the fall of 1985." The program requires freshmen to buy at

something about it."
HOUSER ALSO WANTS to evaluate Saga. "I feel that
some of the prices need adjusting. I also want to work on the
services that they provide, such as catering."
As president of the Senate, Houser has planned an orienta

familiar with how we do business, and the basic operations of
the Senate."
One of the main goals that Houser has for the Senate is to
have Greene Street closed off permanently. She also wants
more students to get involved in Student Government. "One
of the main things that 1 talked about in my campaign was an
