Inmates talk to
students about CGI

tions Institute visited the Hales House dorm
government meeting Tuesday night to share
with USC students the mistakes thev made
early in their lives.
Speaking to more than 50 residents in the
dorm's social room, the inmates nave personal
accounts of how both drugs and
alcohol had af'I'cctcd their lives. I hey urged
the students to stay away from constant use
of both, and said staying in college was the
right road to follow.
The visit was sponsored by the dorm
government "to help people stay on the ri^ht
track," President Annette Helms said. "It
was designed to i'linmrnvc m-onle mil i<i ln<
influenced by fast money."
Two teams of inmates travel around the
state speaking as part of the "Ciet Smart"
program, director I inda l.awthcr said.
