Players w^it for NFL
The United Slates l-ootball l eague has started its exhibition
season, and nine IJSC players drafted by the Los
Angeles Lxpress have yet to sign.
Most of the players said they have not signed with the
hxpress because they are wailing for the National l-ootball
League draft on April 30.
All-America offensive lineman Del Wilkes said, 'I in
not going to make any decisions as to where I'm going to
play until I hear from the NI L."
All America linebacker James Seawright echoed Wilkes,
saying, "I'm waiting on the Ni l.. I don't care what the Express
tells me. I'm waiting until April."
f-.arlier this year in Sini Valley, Calif., a l.os Angeles
suburb, Randy Rosenbloom, sports director at radio sta
uon iswinis. quoreu sources Kiiowicugcame wnn me
team" as saying the Express was suffering a severe cash
flow problem and that if a new buyer were not found
quickly, the team might fold.
Although General Manager Don Klosterman denied the
report, it made some of the Gamecock players a little apprehensive
about playing in l.os Angeles.
