From Staff Reports
The Cinematic Arts Committee of the
Carolina Program Union is bringing such
films as "Risky Business," "The Big Chill"
and "Flashdance" to the Russell House
Theatre this spring, along with animated
films like Walt Disney's "Snow White" and
"Watership Down."
Because of budgetary problems, the committee
is sponsoring films only from
Thursday-Sunday for the rest of the
semester. This fall, the daily film schedule
will resume, said Committee chairman
Charles Tuten.
All films will have three showings daily: at
2:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Viewers will pay $1 for
the daytime shows and $1.75 during the
evenings.
Spring begins March 22-24 with the showing
of "Risky Business," an offbeat film
about a teenager's adventures while his

Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay. This film
was the surprise hit of this past summer and
is not the typical exploitation film produced
just to attract teens, it's an excellent film,
Tuten says.
On March 25, the committee is bringing
"Slapshot," starring Paul Newman to the
Russell House. Newman plays an aging
hockey player whose team may be sold
because it's always losing.

Clint Eastwood's first picture as detective
Harry Callahan, "Dirty Harry," will be offered
to viewers March 30. The British comedy
troupe of Monty Python will star in
