Five false fire alai

University police responded to an unusually
large number of false alarms Saturday. t
An alarm was pulled in LaBorde at 2:41
a.m.; tour hours later, a tire alarm in Bates t
House was pulled.
At 12:15 p.m. police responded to an activated
alarm in the art gallery of McKissick
Museums. The telephone company had ac- >
cidentally set off the alarm while installing
new lines. 1
Two hours later, an alarm in Wade Hampton
Hotel was activated for unknown 1
reasons. !
The fifth false fire alarm of the day was 1
reported at 7 p.m. when someone pulled an
alarm in Maxcy. <
Police report no tires or burglaries occurred
at any of the sites.
The penalty for causing a false alarm is a
$500 fine and disciplinary action.

A drunk man with a knife was arrested in a
restroom at the Coliseum. He was charged
for carrying an unlawful weapon, public
drunkenness and misconduct.
A car was stolen from the University Inn
reserved lot.
Two cars in the University Inn lot were i
broken into and several pocketbooks were
stolen. \
An unidentified male exposed himself to a t
girl outside the Close-Hipp Buildings.

lot, but nothing was stolen.

A vending machine was broken into in the
Coliseum.
Twenty dollars and a student's checkbook
were stolen from a knapsack in Thomas
Cooper Library. The checkbook has been
recovered.
Nov. 30
An alarm in the Wade Hampton Hotel was

The side clutch cover of a motorcycle
parked on Davis Field was stolen.
Several items were stolen from an
unsecured room in the Earth and Water
Sciences Building.
Someone sprayed blue paint on the hoods
and doors of several cars parked in the Bates
House lot.
Two checks were stolen from a room in
Thornwell dorm and cashed.
A car parked on a Senate Street lot was
damaged by someone who poured sugar in
the gas tank and slit one of the tires.
An alarm at McKissick was activated and
could not be reset. A guard was posted at the
door until the museums opened the following
day.
A fire alarm was activated at Desaussure.

The left rear vent window of a car parked
on the University Inn parking lot was smashed
in.
USC police escorted a man who had a
seizure in the Physical Science Center to
Richland Memorial Hospital.

A purse was stolen from a car parked on a
USC lot.
A bicycle was stolen from the University
Inn parking lot while its owner was home
for Thanksgiving.
A Volkswagen was ransacked while parked
on a Senate Street lot, but nothing was taken.
A non-student was arrested for public
drunkenness and disorderly conduct at the
Coliseum.
A bicycle was stolen from the Columbia
Hall bike rack.
A girl was hit by a water balloon dropped
from a Columbia Hall window.
