Stevie Nicks reschedules Columbia appearance r\ n _ i o' o - uy nouun u uuimui After cancelling her scheduled October concert in Columbia, the enigmatic Stevie Nicks will bring her "Wild Heart" tour to Carolina Coliseum Thanksgiving night. Sharing a double bill with Nicks will be solo rock guitarist Joe Walsh. Stevie Nicks' career, made famous within the confines of the legendary group Fleetwood Mac, has exploded during the past two years with the emergence of a successful solo career. Nicks was one of the main contributors to the impressive status Fleetwood Mac attained during the late 1970s and early '80s. Bewitchingly personal songs such as "Dreams," "Sara" and "Gypsy" lent to the group's success and Nicks' credibility as a serious and creative songwriter. Moving to develop her talents outside of Fleetwood Mac, Nicks has released two top 10 solo albums. "Belladonna," released in 1981,and "The Wild Heart," released during the summer, have portrayed Nicks with diversity. Singles such as "Edge of Seventeen," "After the Glitter Fades" and "Stand Back" show a stronger but still romantic and reflective performer. Nicks' band includes Sharon Celani and Lori Perry on background vocals, Roy Bittan on piano, Sandy Stewart on synthesizer and Waddy Wachtel on guitar. Her on-stage dramatics and mystical persona usually prove to be thoroughly entertaining. Joe Walsh, formerly of TheJamesGang and The Eagles, will open the Coliseum show. Rooted in rock 'n' roll, Walsh has boosted his popularity with past hits such as "Life's Been Good" and "Space Age Whiz Kids." Walsh is currently touring to promote his most recent solo effort, "You Bought It, You Name It." Though the original Nicks/Walsh concert was sold out, the rescheduled show is not. Tickets are available at Carolina Coliseum and Taylor Street Pharmacy. [ fhe Big Bird' i j 625 Main 771-4455 I ? across from Honeycombs Vi \ i Munch on a two-piece | !
