From Staff Reports
Even when some teams win, they lose.
In its Nov. 7 issue, Sports Illustrated magazine incorrectly
reported a 31-17 win by North Carolina State over USC's
football team, when in actuality, the Gamecocks defeated the
Wolfpack by the same score.
On page 60 of the magazine it states, "North Carolina State
strong safety John McRorie had three interceptions and a
fumble recovery in the Wolfpack's 31-17 win over South
? Carolina...."
USC'S MEN'S tennis team will sponsor its team champion

ner kick with :20 left in regulation to tie the match. Glen Griffin
got an assist on the goal.
"Naturally, it was a disappointment to give the game away
with :20 left," USC head coach Mark Berson said. "I think
that was the fifth game that we have given up a goal in the last
minute of either the half or the game."
"I thought we played sluggish overall, but I thought we had
the edge in the game, Berson said."
The Gamecocks' goal was scored on a 25-yard shot by
freshman midfielder Bill Hency, his fourth of the year, at
23:37 into the game.
"Bill Hency had an outstanding game today," Berson said.
"It was fitting that he should score our goal today. Hency has
really come on for us in the final third of the season."
The Gamecocks finished at 8-11-2, while Appalachian
State ends its season at 8-4-6.
