a "dry run" for an invasion of his country.
Cuban workers in Grenada were there as a "Peace Corps"
to work on the main airport's runway and improve tourism,
the island's primary industry, Tatel said.
"Most of the nations in OECS (Organization of Easter n
Caribbean States) who asked for the intervention are
economically and militarily dependent on the United States."
He announced a contingent of South Carolinians will attend
a demonstration in Washington Nov. 12 to protest "interven

A public "teach-in" on the invasion and its significance will
be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 in Gambrell 001, Tatel said. USC

military force in this particular situation.
"I think it's rather frightening personally," anthropology
sophomore Lisa Tice said. "I'd hate to see a war start."
Peter Lorris, geological engineering senior, agreed."I think
we acted wrongly. Obviously we had American lives to take
care of and we had the right idea," Lorris said.
"But we went about it in the wrong way. This wrong way
was brute force. They could have been evacuated much easier
without using this brute force, such as acquired departure,"
Lorris said.
