JUNIOR SETTER Shellie Higgins served seven straight
points in the second game, and freshman middle blocker Lori
Rowe also served seven in a row in tin third game.
Mo/.ingo stressed Carolina i height as an important factor
in the match.
"The height edge is very important," she said. "You need
the tall girls to make those kills on the net."
The Lady Gamecocks have six players 5-10 or taller, and
they repeatedly spiked the ball for winners against the shorter
49ers.
MOZIISGO SAID no player stood out in the match because
"everybody played really well. We practiced for an hour
before the match to make sure everybody was warmed up and
ready to go."
USC takes on the College of Charleston at home tonight,
and Mozingo expec.s stiffer competition from the Lady (
Cougars.
"They should be a lot better than UNCC," she said. "I expect
a gc ->d match." Game time is at 6:30 p.m. at the P.E.
