Take a visual romp through the woods
Sept. 25 by going to see "Bambi," the classic
69-minute animated feature by Walt Disney.
The story of this deer's life in the forest has
warmed hearts since its first showing back in
1942.
If interested, better catch the film now; it
won't be available for viewing again until

marketing plans keep the company's classic
animated films out of circulation about seven
years, explains Chuck Cromer, manager of
non-theatrical feature film distribution for
Disney.
The Charleston, S.C., native and USC
alumnus says the plan builds a natural audience
for the films ? children who weren't
around for the previous showings and adults
who haven't seen them for years want to enjoy
them again.
"Bambi" is the story of the friendships a
young deer by the same name develops with
the other creatures of the forest, including a

on the soundtrack of "Mike's Murder," a 1
soon-to-be-released major motion picture. i
The soundtrack album is basically a <
showcase for Jackson. He wrote and produced
all the songs on the record, and the musi- ;
cians that performed on Jackson's last i
release, "Night and Day," appear on this
album as well. i
At first listen, most of the tracks bear a I
striking similarity to the songs on "Night and
Day," a record that produced such hits as
"Steppin' Out" and "Breaking Us In Two."
Jackson is known, however, for varying his
musical modes from album to album, and
"Mike's Murder" is no exception to this.
C
ON "MIKE'S Murder," Jackson has com- is
bined musical styles seen on previous albums L
such as "Look Sharp" and "Night and f
Day" to create songs with both wellcomposed
melodies and forceful rhythms.

Even though this latest release is a "movie
>oundtrack," the tracks on the first side
iound like material that would appear on one
?f Jackson's own albums. The second side,
however, plays more like typical movie
music; the songs have no lyrics, and are soft
and melodic. !
The main theme of the record is the ups
and downs in the life of a young man living
in the city. The third track on side one,
"Laundromat Monday," displays the man's
aspirations for success and his exhaution
from trying:
