Fine, if you v. ant to unite, then do
so. But don't ask for licensing from
the university. This licensing would
include being funded by the university,

that student activity fees would be

bisexuals, transvestites, or, for that
matter, heterosexuals. They all have
just as much basis for existence as
you do. Is it that you feel you have a
"common interest," therefore you
have the right (or the basis) for being
licensed as an organization?
Take, for example, the sailing club.
They, too, have a "common interest''
in that they all like to sail or would
like to learn how. As an ex
iracurricular activity, the university
has chosen to fund them so members
can have the facilities and equipment
necessary to enjoy their activity.
Similarly, the French club has been
funded because students have a
"common interest" ? French. This
organization can be viewed as both
curricular and extracurricular as it is
facilitating education both in the class
and out.
Granted, you (GSA) have a
"common interest," but should you

get funded simply on those grounds?
What would you do with these funds?
The sailing and French clubs use their
iuncis tor respective activities. Given
your desired licensing, would the
funding you would receive be used for
your sexual activites?
Once again, if you feel the need to
organize, do so This does not,
however, deem it necessary or right
for you to be licensed by USC. You can
still organize and voice your opinions
without the license. No one is stopping
you from holding meetings or encouraging
others to come. Just as you
have already done, you can continue
to place ads in the "classifieds" in the
Gamecock inviting people to attend
your meetings.
