SG reschedu ^ By Leslie Potash Student Government elections have been rescheduled for tomorrow, with runoffs set for March 23. The runoffs will be after spring break because SG codes specify there must ue six 10 id aays Deiween me general election and the runoffs, said SG Vice President Mike Sheely. "It also gives them (the candidates who win a clear victory in the general election) an extra week to make all their appointments," he said. Sheely said the SG office has received no complaints about the delay since the new dates were set, although there were a few when the elections were first postponed. Sheely said filing was reopened to offer the same opportunity to other students. Ten people filed during the two extra days. "We had to reopen filing to fulfill the legalities," he said. The SG presidential candidates have different views on how the delay has affected their campaigns. Barry Gray said it did not cause many problems, adding that Famiglietti had a legitimate claim. "It was a little bit of a letdown Monday night (before election day) when I was all ready to go. But I don't feel like it's hurt that much. Candidate Jim Doyle said he had been "very frustrated" by the delay and that it had been handled "pretty poorly." I thought at first it would hurt my chances to get elected, but people told me that a lot of people got very upset about the way it was handled. They went to vote and there was no indication it had been canceled. "The only thing I saw was a sign on the Student Government office door. "But I had more time to talk to people," he added.
