Chairman Dana Morris, but it was not
specifically written in the SG code.
"This establishes residency
requirements for this election,"
Morris said.
Campus Court Monday upheld a
decision in favor of Matthew
Famiglietti on the basis that SG codes
were unclear.

will be allowed to run in the SG
election for his college ? the Law

Famiglietti contested the residency

graduate student, must live on
campus because he is handicapped.

Famiglietti said the law school is
his "true residency," because that is
where he spends most of his time and
he doesn't have the time or energy to
get involved in dorm life.
"Graduate students shouldn't have
to represent undergraduates because
it is a different lifestyle," he said.
SG Vice President Mike Sheely said
the decision only determines
guidelines for this election and will be

"It is the same thing we have been

Famiglietti said Student Government
is only protecting its selfinterests
and is not protecting
students' interests.
Filing for SG seats has been extended
until noon Friday to ensure
that everyone has filed correctly,
Sheely said.
The Senate decided to hold SG
elections Tuesdav with mn-nffc
March 23.
In other Senate news, fund allotment
for each candidate in the upcoming
SG elections was increased
from $20 to $30. The added $10 was
necessary, according to Sheely,
because of the extended time of the
elections.
"Each candidate is allowed $20, and
they had already spent that previous
to the original election. They needed
the extra $10 because of the extension."
