USC Athletic Director Bob Marcum
said Carolina's football sessions last
week at Williams-Brice Stadium did
not constitute a NCAA violation.
WIS-TV reported Friday night that
the sessions held should constitute

Gamecock coaching staff, including
Head Football Coach Joe Morrison,
were present.
NCAA rules state football teams are
allowed 20 spring workouts, and
Morrison had scheduled his first
practice for Monday, Feb. 28.
Marcum, however, told The State
the meetings were open to the student

Marcum told The State notices were
posted in USC's athletic dorm, in the
stadium's weight room and at the

Marcum told The State he has
called the NCAA headquarters asking
if the sessions were violations. John
Leavens of the NCAA enforcement
division said there was no violation.
but asked Carolina to submit other
material, according to Marcum.
