basketball team held a clinic for the
Richland-Northeast Youth Basketball
Association league at Forest Lake Park.
Ken Simons, president of the league, said
more than 175 youths participated, about 115
of which were from his league, which ranges
in age from eight to 15.

for the league, Simmons said.
"We hope to make it a third annual and
etc. The kids really enjoy it," he said.
The youths were split into groups, and the
Carolina players instructed different phases
of the game. Mike Brittain and Kenny
Holmes taught free-throw shooting, Harold
Martin gave shooting tips, Gerald Peacock
and Scott Sanderson taught passing, Chris
Troutman instructed dribbling and Brad
Jergenson and Duane Kendall gave tips on
defense.
One of the most popular stations was
jimmy rosier s instructions on rebounding
and scoring off a rebound. If his pupil
couldn't put the ball in the basket after a few
tries, Foster lifted him up so he could dunk
the ball.
"I JUST love kids," Foster said.
"I think it's fun to teach little kids. Some
of them might become good players,"
Kendall said. "I remember when I went to
camps and clinics." !
