USC'S David Burr has been selected to
play in the seventh annual Senior Bowl soccer
game Dec. 12 at Skelly Stadium in Tulsa,
Okla.
Burr, who was the Gamecocks' leading
scorer this season, will represent the East
squad in the meeting between East and
West teams. The East team was drawn from
players from Maine to Florida and east of
the Mississippi River. Sixteen players are
on a team.
Burr, who played midfielder, scored 19
points on five goals and nine assists. He
scored two game-winning goals and was
third n the team in shots with 42.
The Atlanta, Ga., native is Carolina's alltime
career assist leader with 23 and was a
member of the South team at the National
Sports Festival in Indianapolis this summer.
He has been tabbed one of 25 players from
the Festival eligible to try out for the 1964
U.S. Olympic team.

Burr was drafted in the third round of the
Major Indoor Soccer League's annual draft
by the St. Louis Steamers.
He is the second USC soccer player to De
picked for the Senior Bowl. Paul Turin, a
goalkeeper, was awarded the same honor in
1979.
