The proposal was due for approval at Wednesday's Faculty
Seriate meeting, but because this year's Student Government
has not expressed its opinion of the proposal, Student Affairs
Committee Chairman Kevin Lewis decided to postpone the
Senate vote on the proposal until the December meeting.
The proposal, which discusses student social rules and in
what way students who violate the rules should be dealt, has
been under consideration since 1980 when a presidential task
force first made suggestions for changes in the student
discipline system.
Lewis said the proposal was ready for a vote, and the

Also, President James Holderman told the senate about the
Budget and Control Board's decision to allow the Commission
on Higher Education and state colleges until Jan. 15
to consider the board's suggestions for budget cuts and
reallocations.
Holderman said the university is anxious to cooperate with
the state on the budget. The board recommended that the
state colleges consider state needs for high technology when
they draw up their budgets. Holderman said "high !
