Fee. Continued from page one
Daetwyler said most of the money in the
athletic department account comes from
public ticket sales. The second major source
of revenue comes from Gamecock Club
booster contributions. The department also
draws money from TV and radio receipts
from broadcasted games and from interest
earned on the funds in the account.
Daetwyler said he doesn't expect the $16
athletic fee to increase, because the
department has other adequate sources of
revenue that make it possible to give
students tickets.
Woody Carothers, business manager for
Thomson Student Health Center, said

Budget Director Earle Hollev said
students also pay a $75 tuition charge and a
$15 student facilities bond, which are used
for a debt service. He said USC uses this
money for paying off building costs. "It's
similar to paying off a mortgage," he said.
The $5 stadium improvement fee pays for
stadium renovation and upkeep, said Dave
Swentor, Daetwyler's assistant. Swentor
said students have paid a stadium fee "ever
since there's been football (at USC)."
The university board of trustees must
approve any increases or charges in the
fees. Erickson said.
