Judicial reform
implementation
By Lemar Marshall
Flans to revise the judiciary code system
probably will not go into effect this
semester, Dana Morris, Judiciary Committee
chairman, announced Wednesday at
the Student Senate meeting.
After two years of planning by Student
Government to change the code system, a
decision may be reached by the Dec. 3
meeting of the Faculty Senate. Ashley Abel,
SG president, said if Student Government
does not decide on the proposal before Dec.
3, the Faculty Senate will act on it. "We are
working hard to finalize all preliminary
planning and hope that we can come to a
conclusion soon," Morris said.
Matt Ward, Academic Committee
chairman, presented plans to revise the
student activity point system used for
evaluating candidates for university
awards. "Presently, candidates must be in
a 15 percent range of the highest scorer to be
considered for an award unless a two-thirds
vote is passed by the Honors and Awards
Commission," Ward said.
This procedure is not used for Outstanding
Senior and Graduate awards, the bill states.
Ward explained that the point system
should eliminate subjectivity.

Finance Committee Chairman Steve
Short presented the allocations for Bell
Camp. The $14,984 allocated to Bell Camp
ineludes: $2,200 for repairs, $r>00 for
promotions, $3,000 for a multi-purpose
basketball-volleyball court, $375 for electric
fans for the concession booth, $675 for industrial
tools, $305 for a Weed-eater. $5,600
to the concessions and arts and crafts
building and $2,329 for parking lot and
drainage repairs.
Several senators disagreed with the
allocations, saying students put too much
money into maintaining Bell Camp because
the faculty uses the camp more than
students do.
Changing the course of the shuttle bus
system during the Thanksgiving holiday is
being planned, ine snuiue ouses now
