Increasing numbers of deaths related
to drunk driving have caused many to
speak out in favor of raising South
Carolina's drinking age from 18 to 21.
Now, the consumption of beer is
allowed at age 18 and consumption of
liquor is allowed at age 21. If the drinking

sold to anyone under 21.
The argument in favor of raising the
drinking age is that accidents caused by
"Yes, increasing the drinking age
to 21 would cut down on drunk
driving. It's really bad now. I
think if they raise the legal age
to 21, people drinking would be
more responsible drinkers."
